Urinary incontinence is a COMMON postpartum complaint but IT IS NOT NORMAL! And it shouldn’t be something you just live with now that you’ve had a baby. There are two main types of urinary incontinence - urge and stress. Urge incontinence is when you get a sudden, strong urge to urinate that leads to leaking. Stress incontinence is leaking that occurs with physical activity - lifting your baby, rolling in bed, coughing, sneezing, running, etc. If you’re lucky, you can have both. Oftentimes, incontinence is due to a mix of poor bladder habits, core (which includes the pelvic floor) weakness, poor posture and pressure system dysregulation.
Chelsea method considers each main underlying cause of urinary incontinence and addresses each to bring the new mama back into full bladder (and bowel!) control. Our program will address your alignment, regulate your pressure systems and work for you to regain an automatic core activation for the return of balanced bladder control.
