Parenting philosophies have become increasingly nuanced and trendy, and terms like "koala parenting," "gentle parenting," and even "almond mom-ing" have been thrown around. But the most recent parenting philosophies to gain traction are "crunchy," "silky," and "scrunchy" parenting. Crunchy parents strive to use natural, holistic products. Silky parents follow the established medical recommendations and tend to rely on modern products for convenience and time management. Scrunchy parents try to strike a balance between the two.

The terms crunchy and silky have often been used as insults, and the idea of the "mommy wars" has been around for years, with people passionate about their parenting philosophies arguing for why they’re right. But most parents fall into the vast middle ground, and almost all parents hold their beliefs for the best of intentions - to protect their kids and help raise them into happy, kind, fulfilled adults.

Ultimately, parenting is all about finding a balance that works for your family and it's important to remember that different approaches can be valid.
